us – future 2022 is a developmental drawing to ‘us’ the human scale drawings, of a Male and Female in Dust, Ash, Evo-Bond on Net that have been exhibiting around the UK since 2018.
Based on my early experiences that were rooted in the normality and expectation of my temporality: Adam and Eve, 3 score years and 10, then my essence roaming new worlds as ash or dust. I wanted to extend the generations and create the future offspring of ‘us’
The media is the dusty debris and the residue of human DNA and data of my family. Collected via the ritual of domestic cleaning.
Dust is the substance that holds life together and could be viewed as a witness to human physical and spiritual vulnerability: ‘ashes to ashes, dust to dust’ The ghostly children will dance and play around their fragile world.
Exposed to nature across the Summer/Autumn of 2022 it is anticipated that the elements will redefine and redraw the work.
